Screenprinting Tutorial Video
Video of process for creating LPL posters
With a growing team and cozy office, we made the move to a bigger office in River North which was definitely an upgrade. Exposed brick walls, timber ceiling, and big windows to brighten up the space. This bigger office meant a lot of empty wall space, which immediately got me thinking about how to fill this space. After some brainstorming, we decided on designing a series of posters that include principles we live/work by. As a team we came up with the following:
- Listen, Design Develop
- Users over Features
- Code for Change
- Build, Ship, Iterate
- Analytics Drive Products
- Design with Reason
I designed this series of six posters branded with the LaunchPad Lab colors and typography. Since there was quite a bit of wall space to fill so I wanted to print these posters at a fairly large scale on some nice quality paper. But I didn’t have much luck finding a vendor that could do that for me, so I took matters into my own hands and decided to use the screen printing experience I gained in college to make these posters at home.
Screen printing is a fairly time intensive process with quite a few steps. So while creating these posters I documented the entire process with Tom’s Go Pro. To see how it’s done be sure to check out the video below!
